Frostpunk 2 Reportedly Coming to Consoles in Mid-September

Frostpunk 2 is reportedly coming to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 on Sept. 18, 2025, according to an X user by the name of VGT Gaming News. Their X post was accompanied by a video trailer of the game, which showed the announcement.
VGT Gaming News also mentioned that the game will be available day one on PC Game Pass and that there will be two physical versions for consoles. The first one is the Icebreaker edition, which includes a pop-up diorama, an artbook and a novella.
The second one is called the Whiteout edition, which includes everything mentioned above plus an embroidered patch, a keychain, stickers and a multi-layered shadowbox. In addition to that, the game will also be upgraded to the Deluxe Edition with three upcoming DLCs included.
Earlier this year, the developers announced their plans for the game, which include a console port in the summer. However, it seems that the release date has been pushed back to fall, with the release date now planned to be in September.
Frostpunk 2 was released in September 2024 on PC and was received favorably by critics. The game puts the player in the shoes of a leader who must make hard decisions to make sure that his people survive the worldwide volcanic winter.
