Developer 11 Bit Studios has officially unveiled its new Frostpunk title with a teaser trailer that shows 2027 as the game’s release year.
The upcoming game by the Polish video game developer and publisher is titled Frostpunk 1886. It will be the third installment in the Frostpunk series from the studio founded by former members of CD Projekt and Metropolis Software.
The game will be a revamped Unreal Engine 5 version of the original Frostpunk. However, according to the description of the announcement trailer, the game won’t simply be a visual overhaul, as it is going to be expanded with mod support and a completely new narrative called Purpose Path in the game’s universe. According to earlier reports, this new IP will also feature new mechanics and laws.
The announcement is coming on the heels of the news that 11 Bit Studios reported its highest revenue to date, mostly fueled by the success of Frostpunk 2.
