Online Roblox game Grow a Garden hit a milestone of 11.7 million concurrent players with the new Bizzy bees event on May 31, 2025, according to RoMonitor Stats. As of May 31, 2025 the game has received 3.8 billion visits.
This achievement of the Roblox farming simulator title exceeds the sum of peak concurrent players of the top five titles on Steam, which are, at the time of writing: PUBG: Battlegrounds with 3,257,248 peak concurrent players; Black Myth: Wukong with 2,415,714; Palworld with 2,101,867; Counter-Strike 2 with 1,862,531; and Monster Hunter Wilds with 1,384,608, totaling 11,021,968.
Launched in March 2025, the title is playable on all the platforms where Roblox is available, including Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, both macOS and Windows PC, PlayStation 4|5, Android and iOS smartphones, Meta Quest VR, and multiple PC VR headsets like Oculus Rift or HTC Vive.
Grow a Garden gameplay includes the core of virtual gardening, from planting seeds to growing crops and breeding animals. It is worth noting that plants in the game grow even when players are offline, motivating them to return and see what has evolved during their absence.
Notably, shortly after release Grow a Garden was bought by Janzen Madsen, founder of New Zealand’s Splitting Point Studios, from a teenager who still owns about half of the game, according to GameFile News.
The game generates revenue from sales of in-game items that can be purchased with either the Grow a Garden’s own currency, Sheckles, or Roblox’s currency, Robux.
The title partially owes its success to Roblox’s business model, which relies on independent developers who make games using Roblox’s tools, like an AI generator of 3D objects and environments from text prompts, and publish them on the company’s namesake platform.
As of the first quarter of 2025, Roblox Corporation reported revenue of $1.035 billion, showing a 29% year-over-year increase. On top of that, the company also stated that it saw 97.8 million daily active users, showing a 26% year-over-year increase.
