Helldivers 2: Heart of Democracy update goes live, bringing the battle to the streets of Super Earth, as was announced in a PlayStation Blog post.
In a new update, despite the fierce efforts of the Helldivers, the Illuminate has breached the defenses of Super Earth. As they are now terrorizing the planet, the Helldivers have returned to defend their home planet and fight for what is rightfully theirs. Now, the main battleground is the urban sprawl of Super Earth, where players tackle operations and work together to liberate cities.
On top of that, the Helldivers are now tasked with repelling the Illuminate invasion by gaining ground over the squids as they fight to control areas where the fleet is landing. Another new objective for the Helldivers is to activate Planetary Defense Cannons and take down the Illuminate fleet. Additionally, the Helldivers now need to protect the citizens of Super Earth’s cities and bear in mind that any civilian lives lost to friendly fire will be punished.
It is worth noting that the Heart of Democracy update brings small squads of SEAF troops, who are now available to call for backup.
