The plans for a Definitive Edition and paid Hogwarts Legacy DLC weren’t announced by the studio, however, a few outlets have reported its existence. The studios have allegedly canceled all the plans just this week. According to anonymous sources Bloomberg spoke to, the content to be included in the DLC is not substantial enough for the price they’re planning to sell it for.
In 2024, the Definitive Edition was reported to feature 10-15 hours of new content. This includes an additional story quest, side missions, costumes, and more. The Bloomberg report adds that the DLC was supposed to restore a storyline cut during development.
In February, Warner Bros. Games reportedly canceled multiple games and shut down three studios: Monolith Productions, Player First Games, and WB Games San Diego. The cancelation, according to Bloomberg, is linked to the restructuring at the studio. The sequel is still being developed.
