Path of Exile 2’s April Update To Add New Class, 5 New Ascendancies, and More

Path of Exile 2’s “Dawn of the Hunt” update will add the Huntress class to the game and five new ascendancies together with it. The update will be available on April 4, 2025.

The “Dawn of the Hunt” update adds the Huntress to the game. She fights with her spear and buckler, combining a style of melee and ranged options to eradicate her enemies. Together with her addition, the patch will also include five new ascendancies.

The first two, Ritualist and Amazon, are the ascendant classes of the Huntress. The Ritualist leans towards animal sacrifice and plague, implying a more magical take on the class. The Amazon focuses more on the melee aspect of the class, using her spear and buckler to their full potential.

Three other ascendancies were added: The Smith of Kitava, The Tactician, and The Lich. The Smith of Kitava falls under the Warrior branch. This ascendacy quite literally allows the Warrior to enhance their weapons before battle, including their armor.

The Tactician has banners they can place to buff their party members, while the Lich turns the Witch into an undead and is said to be the “Master of Chaos and Curses.”

Path of Exile 2 entered early access on December 6, 2024. The game is available on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The game had an all-time peak of more than 500,000 concurrent players on Steam during its release month.
