- Indiana Jones and the Great Circle’s April 17 PS5 launch propelled it to become the best-selling game that week.
- The game had a better time selling on PlayStation 5 than on PC and Xbox consoles.
- Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was first released on December 9, 2024, for PC and Xbox Series X|S.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was released on the PlayStation 5 on April 17 and became the best-selling game that week. According to Mat Piscatella, it’s the first time the game has reached the top spot on the weekly charts. Piscatella is the Executive Director and Video Game Industry Analyst at Circana, a market research company.
An hour before putting out the Bluesky post mentioning the new Indiana Jones game’s achievement, he also posted a chart showing the most-played games during that week. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was nowhere to be found.

When asked why this was the case, Piscatella blamed live-service games. “The big live service games are sucking the air out of the market,” which alludes to the fact that majority of the most-played games on both the Xbox and PlayStation charts are all live-service games.
Gaming.News has reported on Indiana Jones and the Great Circle’s sale on the PlayStation 5. It sold faster on the console compared to PC and Xbox. On launch day alone, the PlayStation 5 version of the game already sold 51,400 copies while Steam lagged with 42,700 copies.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was released on December 9, 2024, for PC and Xbox Series X|S. It reached a peak concurrent player count of 12,138 on Steam.
