Nvidia’s RTX 5080 SUPER and RTX 5070 SUPER Reportedly Have Boosted Memory Configurations

|
- GeForce RTX 5080 SUPER supposedly has 24 GB memory, while RTX 5070 SUPER reportedly has 18 GB memory.
- Both rumored Nvidia Hardware use GDDR7 VRAM.
- The SUPER series are a refresh of the RTX 50-series.
A forum on Chiphell points towards the production of a potential Super Series refresh for the RTX 50-series graphics cards. Information for both RTX 5080 Super and RTX 5070 SUPER was leaked – the RTX 5080 SUPER will supposedly have 24 GB memory capacity by utilizing GDDR7 technology. As for the RTX 5070 SUPER, it is suspected to have 18 GB memory.
Nvidia hardware technology is testing 3GB memory modules of GDDR7 – a practice that began when the RTX 5090 Laptop GPU began testing the advancement in technology. For the RTX 5090, the card supports up to 8 modules – thereby carrying 24 GB since each module holds 3 GB instead of the conventional 2 GB.
Here are the RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Supers’ specs known thus far:
RTX 5080 Super:
- Architecture: GB203
- Process Technology: TSMC 4N
- VRAM (GB): 24
- VRAM Bus Width: 256
- SMs / CUs: ???
- Tensor / AI Cores: ???
- Ray Tracing Cores: ???
- Boost Clock (MHz): ???
RTX 5070 Super:
- Architecture: GB205
- Process Technology: TSMC 4N
- VRAM (GB): 18
- VRAM Bus Width: 192
- SMs / CUs: ???
- Tensor / AI Cores: ???
- Ray Tracing Cores: ???
- Boost Clock (MHz): ???
The 5070 SUPER reportedly holds six modules, thereby meaning it holds 18 GB memory; this information was leaked and has not been officially announced.
RTX 5080 non-SUPER with 24 GB memory was supposedly confirmed by board partners on accident – as according to Videocardz. The 24 GB iteration was planned as the original RTX 5080 model, but “due to the cost and limited availability of the 3GB modules, NVIDIA chose a 16 GB configuration instead.”
