Reburn Frantically Delays La Quimera’s Release

|
- The upcoming first-person shooter, La Quimera, was delayed indefinitely.
- Reburn announced it’ll share updates on its Discord server as soon as possible.
- La Quimera was supposed to be released on April 25, 2025.
Reburn has indefinitely delayed the release of La Quimera, a first-person shooter set in a dystopian future in Latin America. The delay was announced on Bluesky, a social media platform catered for developers. As of writing, no update has been provided regarding the delay.
“We’ll share a timing update in our discord server as soon as we can,” Reburn wrote on social media.
Insider Gaming speculates that the delay was prompted by a bombardment of negative reviews from early access players. In his review of the game, journalist Grant Taylor-Hill states that La Quimera’s visual effects are “sub-par, gunplay is cut-and-dry and unimpressive, the voice acting and animations are dated.”
“I simply didn’t care to become immersed in La Quimera, which has ultimately revealed itself as a relatively short shooter with uninspiring mechanics that won’t leave a lasting impression on me as a gamer,” the reviewer shared.
The game’s world and story are crafted by Nicolas Winding Refn, a Danish film director, screenwriter and producer best known for directing Drive and The Neon Demon and his acting role as Heartman in the Death Stranding series.
Reburn was formerly known as 4A Games, which was founded in 2005 and is best known for its Metro series. The latest entry to the series, Metro Exodus, sold 10 million copies and earned widespread critical acclaim.
