Exploding Kittens 2 Receives New Expansion

The Streaking Kittens expansion is available starting now in the mobile game Exploding Kittens 2 from Marmalade Game Studio for iOS, Android and Steam.
The new expansion is rolled out alongside a free content-sharing update, allowing a game’s host to share expansions with friends who don’t own them.
The expansion brings five new card abilities to the game:
- Swap Top and Bottom: Switch the top and bottom cards of the draw pile.
- Mark: Choose an opponent to reveal one of their cards and leave it face-up.
- Garbage Collection: All players must shuffle one card from their hand back into the draw pile.
- Catomic Bomb: Move all Exploding Kittens cards to the top of the draw pile.
- Streaking Kitten: While holding this card, a player can draw an Exploding Kitten without exploding, allowing them to keep it in their hand.
On top of that, the update introduces three themed decks:
- Streaking Kittens deck themed around stealing cards
- Danger Mode deck loaded with more Exploding Kittens cards than usual
- Attack of the Attacks deck that causes huge Attack chains
Exploding Kittens’ original board game, which started in 2015 on Kickstarter by Elan Lee, Matthew Inman and Shane Small, has sold over 18 million copies worldwide as of 2024. The game is available in over 45 countries and translated into multiple languages. Besides the mobile game, the franchise also has a Netflix adaptation in the form of an animated series.
