The Entire Skyblivion Team Received TES IV: Oblivion Remastered Keys From Bethesda

The whole Skyblivion team received a free key for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, which was released yesterday. The team posted on X thanking Bethesda for their continued support of the project while also confirming that they’ve received the free keys.

Skyblivion is a project being worked on by 65 volunteers. The mod aims to recreate Oblivion using the graphics and mechanics of the Skyrim engine. Work on it started in 2012. In 2016, the project opened up for other volunteers who wanted to participate.

In an interview with VG247, Kyle “Rebelzize” Rebel mentioned that they had a lot of contact with Bethesda. Rebel is the project lead of Skyblivion. He clarified that Bethesda is very supportive of them, even calling them “one of the most supporting communities when it comes to modding.”

When asked about rumors regarding an Oblivion Remastered coming out, Rebel said that the rumors did not affect them that much. He added that there’s no reason for comparison, as they’re not trying to sell a game for profit. Two months after the interview, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered was released.

The Skyblivion team has set its sights on a full release of the mod this year, but they have not mentioned a date. The team provides updates regarding the state of the mod on its social media.
