TES IV: Oblivion Remastered Lasted Only Three Hours Before an R-18 Mod Was Created for It

- The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered only lasted three hours before modders uploaded its first R-18 mod.
- It’s called Ahegao Short Sword, and all it does is replace the Steel Shortsword’s texture with faces of elated anime women.
- The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered was released on April 22, 2025, for the PlayStation 5, PC and Xbox Series X/S.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered has just been released, and it didn’t take modders long before they could add something to the game to tailor it to their tastes. Named Ahegao Short Sword, this mod replaces the Steel Shortsword texture with pictures of elated anime women.
The mod was first spotted by the folks over at PC Gamer. Aside from a texture change, the mod does nothing else. However, this might be everything the creator, Bub200, wanted. Ahegao Short Sword’s description mentions that this is a proof of concept. This means that by being able to do a texture change like this, it opens up possibilities of what the sword—and pretty much anything in the game—can be changed into.
As of writing, the game already has 64 mods on Nexus Mods, which span from carry weight modifiers and skipping Bethesda’s intro to performance improvements for the game. Because Ahegao Short Sword only shows faces and doesn’t have nudity, it’s considered one of the tamer R-18 mods in games. That changes when the mod user knows the context of the faces, however.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered was released on April 22, 2025, for the PlayStation 5, PC and Xbox Series X/S. Before its release, there was a lot of buzz from leakers who knew its release window.
