Star Wars Zero Company has been officially revealed at the Star Wars Japan 2025 Celebration event on April 19. Developed by Bit Reactor, the studio that features numerous developers who previously worked on the XCOM franchise, the game is slated for release in 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Zero Company takes place in the period of the Clone Wars and follows Hawks, a former Republic officer commanding an elite squad of operatives taking on a growing new threat. The upcoming title will be a single-player game featuring turn-based tactics gameplay, base-building elements, and intelligence-gathering mechanics.

Hawks’ appearance and combat role will be fully customizable, just like the operatives the squad brings on board. Players will be able to personalize their squadmates’ looks, gear, and skills, selecting from a diverse range of character types, from astromechs to Jedi. During missions, the members of Zero Company that players deploy will build relationships with each other, unlocking potent combat synergies that can shift the course of battle.

Players will be able to choose how to form their Zero Company squad with the option to utilize both characters they crafted themselves as well as new, original Star Wars characters that will be presented in the game, like:

  • Trick, a clone soldier whose laconic wit masks a haunted heart,
  • Luco Bronc, an incendiary sharpshooter who still hasn’t forgiven the Republic for invading his homeworld of Umbara,
  • Cly Kullervo, an infamous Mandalorian gunslinger and one of the last surviving members of the ancient clan Verminoth,
  • Tel, a Tognath Jedi Padawan on a quest to complete her fallen master’s last mission.

The Den, located on the Ring of Kafrene, will serve as the team’s base of operations in Zero Company. It will feature an expansive galaxy map where players can choose the strategic tasks and tactical missions to hop on next.

While Bit Reactor is in charge of development, it is known that Respawn Entertainment, the studio behind Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor, is also working on the game. Electronic Arts and Lucasfilm Games will serve as Star Wars Zero Company’s publishers.

“We’re offering a character we haven’t seen before, a role we haven’t seen before,” said Lucasfilm Games’ Executive Producer Orion Kellogg in an interview with StarWars.com. “I don’t think I can point at another character in the Star Wars franchise and say, oh, that’s Hawks.”

According to Bit Reactor’s Game Director Greg Foertsch and Narrative and Cinematic Director Aaron Contreras, the Star Wars: Andor TV series and Rogue One space opera film were the main inspirations for serving as Zero Company’s inspiration and guiding lights.
