BlizzCon Skips Second Consecutive Year with Return Announcement for 2026

|
- BlizzCon’s 2026 return is scheduled for Sept. 12-13 at the Anaheim Convention Center.
- 2023 BlizzCon Contest Winners will receive a ticket for the 2026 show.
- 26,000 people attended BlizzCon in 2010.
BlizzCon is officially scheduled for 2026. The event is set for Saturday, Sept. 12, and Sunday, Sept. 13, at the Anaheim Convention Center in California.
Activision Blizzard has confirmed that the event will miss its 20th anniversary, marking the first time that BlizzCon will be absent for two consecutive years since its inception in 2005.
Blizzard has not provided specific reasons for skipping 2025, while the company’s official statement says: “We are building this event just like we build our games: with a deep commitment to our players, with respect for your connections to our universes, and as a celebration of the strength of the bonds formed through shared adventure.”
In light of the fact that BlizzCon will take place in California with an average temperature of about 23°C (73°F) on set dates, developers possibly left a cryptic message for fans in the announcement trailer as it was all styled in cracking lumps of ice.
According to the official BlizzCon page, BlizzCon 2023 Contest Winners will receive a ticket for the 2026 show.
It is worth noting that BlizzCon is known for unveiling major game updates and new releases. For example, World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade expansion, Diablo III, Overwatch, and World of Warcraft Classic were all announced at BlizzCon.
BlizzCon 2010, which was also held in Anaheim, California, is considered the biggest BlizzCon in terms of attendance. That year, over 26,000 people attended the event.
