- Moon Studios announced that it will go fully independent.
- No Rest for the Wicked’s development will be independently finished by Moon Studios without Takes-Two’s involvement.
- A big update for the title was announced, releasing on April 30.
Moon Studios, the development team responsible for the Ori series, announced that they will be operating fully independently. They also revealed that they will finish No Rest for the Wicked without Takes-Two’s involvement – the publisher responsible for the massively successful GTA franchise.
“We have secured the publishing rights for No Rest for the Wicked, allowing us to execute our vision without restrictions,” Moon Studios announced.
No Rest for the Wicked is a single-player action RPG title that had its early access on Steam in April 18, 2024. The game is technically still in its early access period.
The initial early access for No Rest for the Wicked was published by Private Division, a subdivision within Takes-Two Interactive. Takes-Two sold Private Division, alongside most of the existing and unreleased games. No Rest for the Wicked was exempt initial buyout, and is now under Moon Studios’ ownership.
Moon Studios already has more content planned for the title, with the biggest major update coming in the form of The Breach. This update is marketed to be the “biggest update to date,” fleshing out the campaign while adding brand new areas. No rest for the Wicked The Breach update releases on April 30.
The development studio is most well known for their work on the Ori series, which received widespread critical acclaim and sold over 15 million copies across its multiple titles.
