Sony Holds Steady on PlayStation Operations Amid Surge in Monthly Active Users

Sony revealed that it has seen growth in the number of PlayStation monthly active users (MAUs) during its Business Segment Presentation & Fireside Chat 2025. The company also presented updated data on hardware and software sales.

As of March 31, 2025, PlayStation Network showed a growth from the previous year of 6 million MAUs, reaching a total of 124 million players.

The company called PlayStation 5 the most profitable generation of consoles to date, with total sales and operating income of $136 billion and $13 billion, respectively.

Besides that, it was revealed that the PlayStation Plus Premium subscription plan has seen year-over-year growth for three consecutive years.

Sony outlined Ghost of Yōtei as a major single-player focus in 2025 and highlighted Wolverine and Intergalactic as subsequent titles.

As for live service games, Bungie’s upcoming extraction shooter Marathon was mentioned as planned for release during fiscal year 2025 despite the fact that the game already has an exact launch date. Fairgame$ was mentioned as a title subsequent to Marathon.
