Clair Obscur: Expedition 33’s album has reached the top spot on Billboard’s Classical Chart, further solidifying the impact the game delivered to the video game industry. Additionally, the game’s album also reached the 13th spot on the official soundtrack album chart as well as the 31st spot on the official album download chart.
The developers of Expedition 33, Sandfall Games, also mentioned that the album has been streamed over 18 million times since its launch. Fans who want to stream the album can do so on Spotify and YouTube Music.

In an interview with the BBC, it was revealed by the game’s director that Expedition 33’s composer, Lorien Testard, was discovered on SoundCloud. Testard had never worked on a video game before then.
What the developers failed to mention is that the album also topped the Classical Crossover chart, which is a genre that combines classical and modern popular elements. Additionally, the game also won PlayStation Player’s Choice for April 2025.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was released on April 24, 2025, for the PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It has sold around 2 million copies across all platforms so far.
