Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 developers announced that they’ve sold 1 million copies of the game three days after its release, and this does not include Game Pass players. It is currently one of the highest-rated games this year on Metacritic.
Sandfall Interactive, the developers of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, caught the video gaming world off guard, becoming one of the best games this year. Initially, fans were worried that Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered’s release would overshadow Clair Obscur: Expedition 33’s. But Bethesda itself promoted the game and gave it a shout-out on X.
Since then, the game has been off to a great start with 500,000 copies sold on the first day of release. Three days later, the game sits comfortably on top of Metacritic’s “Best Games This Year” category with a score of 92. It shares its top spot with puzzle game Blue Prince.
At the time of writing, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 reached an all-time concurrent players peak of 121,422 on Steam alone. The total is expected to be bigger, as the game is also available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Game Pass.
