World of Warcraft: Midnight expansion is slated for release on March 2, 2026, as was revealed by the game’s developing and publishing company Blizzard Entertainment on Nov. 26, 2025.
The Midnight DLC will bring the next chapter of the Worldsoul Saga to the game, as Xal’atath, the Harbinger, poses the greatest threat by unleashing chaos in her wake with the ensuing invasion striking into the heart of the blood elf homelands in Eversong Woods. Arriving over the glittering elven kingdom of Quel’thalas, the looming Voidstorm threatens to extinguish all light and cover the world in darkness.
Players will level up to 90 and explore four new and reimagined zones of Eversong Woods, Zul’ Aman and Harandar to uncover the heart of Xal’atath’s machinations while seeking out new allies.
Besides that, the expansion will bring Arator’s Journey, a new questline alongside Arator, son of Turalyon and Alleria Windrunner. At the request of Alonsus Faol, players will recruit Arator for this continent-spanning adventure to seek out relics of the Light used by priests and paladins at the Sunwell when their reserves run dry.

In the new expansion, players will also be able to earn the trust of the Haranir through a series of quests to unlock this new allied race. Haranir will be able to join either the Horde or the Alliance and play as a Druid, Hunter, Mage, Monk, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock, or Warrior.

The other new feature which will become available for unlock with the arrival of the new DLC is the new third specialization for Demon Hunters, the Devourer, which harnesses the Void with unique ranged abilities ripped from the enemies. Void Elves can also heed the call of the Demon Hunter, taking up the mantle to push back against the hungering forces of the Void.

The massively multiplayer online role-playing video game World of Warcraft (WoW) was launched in 2004 for Windows and macOS PCs only.
Inspired by other MMORPGs, particularly EverQuest, World of Warcraft allows players to create a character avatar and explore an open game world in third- or first-person view, exploring the landscape, fighting various monsters, completing quests, and interacting with non-player characters or other players.
Set in the same universe as the Warcraft series of real-time strategy games and having a similar art direction, World of Warcraft contains elements from fantasy, steampunk, and science fiction, including gryphons, dragons, elves, steam-powered automata, zombies, werewolves, other horror monsters, time travel, spaceships, and alien worlds.
