Key points
- Hytale’s Creative Mode focuses on the creative side of Hytale.
- The mode will be available during Early Access alongside Exploration Mode and modding.
-
Hytale was revived earlier this month after the original co-founders reacquired Hytale from Riot Games.
Hytale’s Creative Mode engineer Ktar shared insight on the upcoming game mode, slated to launch during Hytale’s Early Access, which has no set release date yet. Other features said to release alongside the Early Access are Exploration Mode and modding.
Ktar detailed how to use various functionality within the official blog post, as well as how to access the Creative Mode Quick Settings Panel to quickly edit settings like flight speed, inertia, and more customizability of player tools. Other tool walkthroughs within the blog include:
- Player Model Changer
- Prefab Browser
- Paste Tool
- Machinima Tool
- Flying Modes
- Shape Brush
- Selection Tool
- Ruler / Laser Pointer Tools
- Help Menu
Creative Mode, unsurprisingly, prioritizes the creative side of Hytale. Players can fly around, explore, create, edit, and experiment with the environment. The overall vision of Hytale is for it to become a creator-focused platform, featuring deep modding, community features, player creativity, and custom servers.
The title was thought to be canceled earlier this year after Riot Games shut down Hypixel Studios in June 2025. On Nov. 17, Laflamme bought Hytale from Riot Games and rehired over 30 former developers, with a growing team of now 50 individuals. Hytale will officially cost $19.99 upon launch, a price point that Hypixel’s founder Simon Collins-Laflamme has set as aggressively low as possible.
