Evo champion Kim “JDCR” Hyun-jin has secured his spot in the Tekken World Tour 2025 leaderboard after winning First Attack 2025’s Tekken 8 bracket on Oct. 26, 2025. JDCR won against fellow Korean Lee “Edge” Ju-hyung in the grand final, where a reset happened after JDCR lost three straight games.
But the Evo champion showed why he’s one of the best Tekken 8 players in the world, as he was able to formulate counterplay immediately after being quickly 3-0’d by Edge and won the reset 3-1. Other notable entrants, such as Kim “Kkokkoma” Mu-jong and Son “Qudans” Byeong-mun, were in the top eight of the tournament but were both defeated by Edge on his way to the grand final.
Qudans, in particular, has been making waves after his announcement a few years ago that he is back to competing. He’s continuing his momentum after winning the SOOP Tekken League Season 1 Finals.
First Attack 2025 is part of the Tekken World Tour 2025 as a Challenger-tier event, which is just below the Master tier. The winner of this tournament took home $1,507 and 300 points. JDCR’s finish placed him in the top 20 in the Tekken World Tour leaderboard, which then qualified him for the Tekken World Tour Finals Group Stage.
