“You’re starting to see some of the thinking that we have in this handheld, but I don’t want to give it all away,” said Bond, without further explanation on whether the “thinking” she was referring to involved the ability to access the PC version of the Xbox Store or other platforms like Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG, or whether it would be a portable device with accelerated features in a docked mode like the Nintendo Switch 2, or something else.
About a week ago, on Oct. 16, 2025, in collaboration with Asus, Microsoft launched its first Xbox handhelds to lukewarm reviews. The ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X were released, priced at $599.99 and $999.99, respectively.
The interview comes on the heels of Bond’s statement confirming that Xbox is still working on the creation of the next generation of consoles.
