Ghost of Yōtei becomes Europe’s biggest PlayStation first-party launch since 2023

According to a report published by The Game Business on Oct. 15, 2025, Ghost of Yōtei has debuted at second place in Games Sales Data. First place is still held by EA Sports FC 26, which has held the place for three consecutive weeks.

The Game Business also said that Ghost of Yōtei is PlayStation’s biggest first-party launch since the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 in October 2023. However, it was still not enough to eclipse the football sports game powerhouse.

Here are the top 10 games in unit sales in Europe during the week ending in Oct. 5:

• EA Sports FC 26
• Ghost of Yōtei
• Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2
• Digimon Story: Time Stranger
• Doom Eternal
• Far Cry Primal
• Hogwarts Legacy
• Red Dead Redemption 2
• South Park: The Fractured But Whole
• Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles

The biggest winner here is South Park: The Fractured But Whole, as it had an increase of 13,256% in sales week-on-week. This is followed by Doom Eternal, which had an increase of 8,610% and then Far Cry Primal, which saw an increase of 3,060%.

Ghost of Yōtei is also second in terms of revenue for the same week, with the first one still being EA Sports FC 26.
