Rematch received crossplay with Patch #3 – 1.200.300, which was released on Sept. 5, 2025.
Developed by Sloclap and co-published by Kepler Interactive, the online co-op football simulator was released for Windows PCs, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on July 19, 2025.
The patch made the crossplay feature turned on by default, with an option to turn it off via the in-game settings.
Patch #3 also introduced tweaks to the balancing of Extra Effort volley shots, including lowering the maximum speed at which players can lock onto volley targets by 10% and reducing the power boost from aerial volley shots.
Set in closed virtual reality arenas with no fouls, no offsides or any breaks in play, Rematch allows players to control a single athlete on a football team in 3v3, 4v4 and 5v5 matches played from a third-person perspective. The title is built in a way that allows each footballer to take on the roles of attacker, defender and goalkeeper, switching among them throughout the game.
The game landed on Xbox Game Pass on its launch day and became available for members of Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscription plans.
As of the time of writing, Rematch has a “Mostly Positive” rating on Steam, with 27,447 reviews and a peak of 92,841 concurrent players, which was reached in the first 24 hours after release.
