Key points

  1. PlayStation Store’s refund process was simplified by eliminating the support chatbot.
  2. Users now directly request refunds through transaction history on the PlayStation website or app.
  3. The purchase must have been made within 14 days, and not have been downloaded or played.

Sony removed the support chatbot that was once gatekeeping refunds on the PlayStation Store, thereby facilitating the process to request a refund. The requirements for the refunds are still the same. The product must have been purchased in the past 14 days, and the consumer cannot have begun the process of downloading or playing it. Exceptions are made if the product is faulty.

To request a refund, consumers must open the PlayStation app and go to the PlayStation Store. Upon entering, they must hit the menu button in the PS store at the top right of the screen, which has three horizontal lines. Then the consumer must hit “Transaction History” and click the “Request Refund” option. For those without the app, the process is nearly identical on the PlayStation Store website.

According to Yahoo, this is Sony’s proclamation to improve the PlayStation Store experience. Other changes include Apple Pay support, a rating system based on purchases, and accessibility tags within the PlayStation 5 store.
