The main story of Destiny: Rising takes place in an alternate Destiny timeline and explores a narrative set after the collapse of civilization during the dangerous times of the resulting Dark Age, when, with the help of Iron Lords, humanity has broken free from the shackles of tyranny and begun to rally against the alien forces intent on its extinction.
Amid the chaos of the early years of The City, the core narrative of the game follows a new generation of Lightbearers who were brought back to life by enigmatic beings called Ghosts as they embark on a mission to ensure humanity’s survival.
Destiny: Rising has 12 confirmed characters, each of whom possesses a unique relic and is aligned with one of three elements: Solar, Void or Arc: Attal (Arc), Kabr (Arc), Estela (Void), Gwynn (Arc), Jolder (Solar), Maru (Void), Ning Fei (Arc), Tan-2 (Solar), Finnala (Solar), Ikora Rey (Void), Umeko (Void) and Wolf (Customizable and Solar versions).
