Helldivers 2 officially launched on Xbox Series X|S on Aug. 26, 2025, a year and a half after its initial release on PlayStation 5 and Windows PC on Feb. 8, 2024.
The title is available in two versions: the standard, which costs $39.99, and the Super Citizen Edition, priced at $59.99.
Developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, the cooperative third-person shooter is set in the 22nd century and follows the story of shock troops called Helldivers, dispatched to combat various threats to humanity, protect Super Earth and spread managed democracy.
The direct sequel to 2015’s Helldivers received 16 awards in different categories across multiple industry award ceremonies.
In 2024, Helldivers 2 surpassed 15 million copies sold, became the third-highest-selling video game of the year in the US and also turned out to be the top seller and most-played game on Steam.
As of the time of writing, Helldivers 2 has a “Mostly Positive” rating on Steam, with 757,328 reviews and an all-time peak of 458,709 players, according to SteamDB.
