On Aug. 12, 2025, Helldivers 2 uploaded a new trailer called Bring the Boom for its upcoming Xbox Series X|S release on Aug. 26. While most of the trailer shows typical Helldivers 2 gameplay, its final few moments hinted at a collaboration with one of Microsoft’s biggest franchises: Halo.
Arrowhead Game Studios did this in a clever way, utilizing a few notes using the saxophone that Halo fans know and love. The song came from Halo 3’s soundtrack, called Difference for Darkness. Aside from the musical hint, there are no other teasers that were included in the trailer.
It’s currently unknown whether a collaboration will actually happen or if this is just an homage from the developers. But seeing Master Chief or the Mjolnir Powered Assault Armor wouldn’t be too out of place in the world of Helldivers 2, as the suits available already resemble them quite a bit.
It is also unclear whether the collaboration will only happen on the Xbox side of things and not on the PlayStation. Players will simply have to wait until the game’s launch on Xbox for more news.
Helldivers 2 was launched on Feb. 8, 2024, for the PlayStation 5 and PC. The game was received favorably, according to Metacritic. As mentioned earlier, the game will be released on the Xbox Series X|S on Aug. 26.
