Devil May Cry 5 becomes Capcom’s best-selling title in the first quarter of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026. The game sold 1,782,000 units, driven by the premiered on April 3, 2025 anime adaptation on Netflix, according to the company’s report.
The fifth major installment in the Devil May Cry series became the company’s only game to surpass a million copies sold in Q1 FY 2026, followed by Resident Evil Village with 923,000 and Resident Evil 4 with 706,000.
Notably, although Devil May Cry 5 tops Capcom’s sales rankings for Q1 FY 2026, its lifetime sales are actually lower than the second-ranked title, as it has sold 10.5 million copies, while Resident Evil Village has surpassed 12 million in total sales.
Developed and published by Capcom, Devil May Cry 5 was released on March 8, 2019, for PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One. An expanded version titled Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition was released for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 in November 2020, adding Vergil as a playable character while for PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One, Vergil was released as paid DLC.
The game sees the return of protagonists Nero and Dante, who are hired by a mysterious stranger named V to stop the Demon King Urizen. Players can control Nero, Dante, and V, each differing in playstyle.
