- Alleged Nintendo Switch 2 OLED prototype parts have been spotted in China.
- The parts are allegedly being sold on Chinese flea market websites.
- The Nintendo Switch 2 was launched on June 5, 2025.
On July 24, 2025, NintendoSoup reported that Chinese social media users have spotted several listings of alleged Nintendo Switch 2 components that are believed to be from an OLED version of the console.
The components look like the body frame of a Switch 2, but its color appears to be white. The sides of the frame do not have a rail similar to the Switch 1 and seem to have the right spots for the Switch 2’s magnetic Joy-Cons to be able to attach to it.
NintendoSoup mentioned that these components are up for sale on Chinese flea market websites, and part of their description mentioned that they were manufactured as samples for research and development purposes.
While nothing is confirmed, Nintendo has done the same with the Switch 1. The company first released it as a black-colored console with an LCD screen and waited four years before coming out with an OLED version in 2017. Additionally, the new Switch 2 bundle with Pokémon Legends: Z-A does not feature a new shell at all.
The Switch 2 launched on June 5, 2025. Just like its predecessor, it has an LCD screen, which opens up the possibility of a console refresh, but with an OLED screen this time. The console became the fastest-selling gaming hardware in the US on July 23, 2025.
