Nintendo Switch 2 reached the milestone of 5 million units sold globally, according to a sales charts on the company’s website.
The data was presented in the form of graphs on Nintendo’s website, specifically on the page titled Dedicated Video Game Sales Units, which is a subsection of Financial Data under the IR Information webpage.

Notably, Nintendo took down the information about the sales of the Switch 2 shortly after publication, but the data had already been spotted by several outlets and a couple of subreddits dedicated to Nintendo and the Switch console.

Nintendo Switch 2 sales started on June 5, 2025, at an initial price of $449.99 despite all the disturbances caused by US President Donald Trump’s tariffs. The console launched with Mario Kart World, Split Fiction, Hitman: World of Assassination Signature Edition, Cyberpunk 2077 and Civilization VII as launch titles, along with Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom featuring improved graphics, framerate and smartphone navigation.
The first Switch sold 2.7 million units in the first month after launch, while the Switch 2 sold 3.5 million units in just the first four days after release, becoming the company’s fastest-selling console.
As for the milestone of selling 5 million units sold globally, the original Nintendo Switch reached it approximately nine months after its launch, while the new-generation console made it in less than a month.
