Pokémon Unite to Receive Huge Balance Changes This Week

|
- Pokémon Unite has a major balance change happening to it on July 18, 2025.
- 15 Pokémons are going to be affected by the changes.
- Several bug fixes are also going to be introduced in the patch.
Pokémon Unite developers published the patch notes for an upcoming update on July 17, 2025. The update seems to be huge, with a Pokémon in particular getting one of its moves completely changed.
The balance adjustment patch is pretty long, but the developers made a point to mention that some of the changes they are implementing are taken from the character’s dominance in the game’s competitive environment.
One of those Pokémons is Inteleon, whose maximum critical counters have been reduced, as well as some of its abilities nerfed. According to the developers, they’re making this change due to it being able to “secure wild Pokémon KOs too consistently.”
The aforementioned Pokémon that will have one of its abilities completely changed is Ho-Oh. Its move, Fly, is going to be changed to Sacred Fire. While it still allows the players to bypass walls and other obstacles, a fire attack has been added before it flies, damaging the opponent instantly.
Here are all the Pokémons that will be affected by the changes:
- Charizard
- Gyarados
- Ho-Oh
- Gardevoir
- Crustle
- Slowbro
- Snorlax
- Alcremie
- Tsareena
- Clefable
- Garchomp
- Cinderace
- Inteleon
- Psyduck
- Hoopa
Aside from the long list of balance changes, the developers are also introducing several bug fixes to the game.
Pokémon Unite is a multiplayer online battle arena available on the Nintendo Switch and mobile phones, released in 2021. Players are grouped into two teams of five, all choosing their own Pokémons to use to fight against the opposing team.
