Key points
  1. The Steam Deck is ranked number one, while Peak is ranked second among paid products.
  2. These rankings are from the week of July 1 to July 8.
  3. Peak continues to gain popularity, costing only $7.99.

The Steam Deck and indie title Peak rank first and second for the platform’s paid sales charts; the rankings were from the week of July 1 to July 8. Counter-Strike 2, per usual, ranks first among all titles, but this game is free and therefore is not included as a proper sale. Most Steam users are now familiar with the Steam Deck, Valve’s portable handheld, which was released years ago and costs $399. As for Peak, the indie cooperative climbing title costs $7.99 and has taken the world by storm.

Peak’s concurrent player count hit 114,494 on July 6 and appears to still be on a steady climb, pun intended. The cooperative title features proximity chat and a stamina bar, which dictates the vast majority of gameplay mechanics. Various content creators play the game, as it serves as a strong multiplayer experience with various opportunities for both betrayal and team building. It is Peak content.

These elements make the game an entertaining journey for various target audiences; the price tag of $7.99 also helps distinguish the title from its competitors. The game was released on June 16, 2025; its popularity grew most during the latter half of June.

As for the Steam Deck, Valve’s hardware was initially released in February 2022. Various specifications of the handheld are available, including the OLED variant alongside LCD, with different storage sizes. Despite having been released a solid three years ago, the Steam Deck keeps up with competitors in the handheld sphere, largely thanks to its official Steam support alongside its competitive pricing of $399 for the base model.
