Resident Evil Requiem landed on more than 1 million wishlists across all the platforms the game is set to release on, including PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X|S, according to a grateful announcement on the game’s official X (formerly Twitter) account.
The upcoming survival horror game developed and published by Capcom is the ninth main title in the Resident Evil series, following 2021’s Resident Evil Village.
The main plot of Resident Evil Requiem focuses on Grace Ashcroft, an FBI technical analyst dispatched to investigate a series of strange deaths at a hotel that was also the site of her mother’s death eight years prior.
The game will bring players back to Raccoon City, the setting of eight other titles from the Resident Evil series, located in Arklay County, an isolated area in the Midwestern United States, which was destroyed during the t-Virus outbreak in 1998, an event that occurred during Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.
In the upcoming release on Feb. 27, 2026, Resident Evil Requiem players will be able to switch between first-person and third-person perspectives at any time during gameplay.
Directed by Koshi Nakanishi, the upcoming title is being developed on RE Engine, just like other Resident Evil games since 2017’s Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.
