Resident Evil 4 Remake Hits 10 Million Sales

A remake of Resident Evil 4 surpassed 10 million units in two years since its release on March 24, 2023, retaining the title of the fastest-selling game in the series.
Previous sales milestones of Resident Evil 4 (2005) remake include 3 million in the first two days after launch, 4 million in just over a week, 5 million in less than four months, 6,5 million by the end of 2023, 7 million around its first anniversary, and 9 million as of the end of 2024.
On top of that survival horror game developed and published by Capcom won an Award for Excellence at the Japan Game Awards in 2023, PlayStation Game of the Year at the Golden Joystick Awards in 2023 and Freedom Tower Award for Best Remake at the New York Game Awards in 2024.
According to Capcom’s data, total sales for the Resident Evil series exceeded 167 million copies as of Dec. 31, 2024. The top five best-selling games are led by Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and the Resident Evil 2 remake, both with 15 million copies sold, followed by Resident Evil Village with 11 million, and the remakes of Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 4, each with 10 million copies.
As of the time of writing, Resident Evil 4 remake featured an Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam with 114,036 reviews, and the game’s all-time peak of concurrent players on Steam was 168,191.
Besides the official press release from Capcom, the development team of the Resident Evil 4 remake prepared a special video to express their gratitude to players and posted it on X (formerly Twitter).
