The creator of Buckshot Roulette, Estonian developer Mike Klubnika, has officially announced the release date for his next game, titled S.p.l.i.t.
It’s a short, narrative-driven psychological horror with a focus on raw terminal hacking using various commands and is slated for release on July 24, 2025, for PC via Steam.
The story of s.p.l.i.t. unfolds as the protagonist chats with fellow technicians in order to plan and execute a malware attack on a superstructure of unethical electronics.
The title features first-person gameplay, a chat where players gain intel and learn more about the facility, detailed command-prompt hacking puzzles and a terminal where players run software.
Klubnika’s previous grim-themed title, Buckshot Roulette, transformed Russian Roulette by introducing a shotgun and some extra rules. As of the time of writing, the game has an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam with 84,763 reviews. By December 2024, Buckshot Roulette had reached a milestone of 4 million copies sold. On Feb. 24, 2025, during the ID@Xbox Showcase, the game was announced for release on Xbox Game Pass.
