Donkey Kong Bananza Introduces DK Artist Mode, Allowing Players to Sculpt Whatever They Like

- Donkey Kong Bananza will include a DK Artist mode, allowing players to sculpt anything.
- The mode will take advantage of the Switch 2’s new mouse controls.
- Donkey Kong Bananza is coming out on July 17, 2025.
During the Donkey Kong Bananza Direct on June 18, Nintendo showcased DK Artist, a game mode that allows players to sculpt just about whatever they want. From Donkey Kong’s face to other Nintendo characters, it’s safe to say that players will have a great time with this mode.
The DK Artist mode will make use of the Nintendo Switch 2’s mouse controls, allowing for much more precise inputs compared to joystick controls. The Direct showcased a lot of art, including a Renaissance-era bust, which shows just how in-depth players can really get.
However, if Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s Custom Stages mode is something to learn from, there’s no doubt that there will be people who will use this mode to create not-safe-for-work materials.
Aside from DK Artist mode, the Direct also shared important information about the game, including Pauline being one of the protagonists in the game. Players will be able to co-op with each other, as well as transform Donkey Kong using Pauline’s singing.
Donkey Kong Bananza is the franchise’s first major release since 2014. It will be available on July 17, 2025, for the Nintendo Switch 2 exclusively.
