Lies of P: Overture Will See Combat Difficulty Decrease in Future Update

Combat difficulty in Lies of P: Overture will be decreased in a future update, according to the game’s director, Ji Won Choi.

“We identified areas that did not turn out quite as we intended. Therefore, we are reviewing various adjustments, including difficulty reduction,” said Ji in a special director’s letter published on YouTube.

The Lies of P director explained that combat is a fundamental mechanic and requires meticulous work, with thorough testing if any changes are implemented. The patch date is yet to be announced.

In Lies of P, players assume the role of a silent puppet named P, who traverses the fictional city of Krat and fights hostile puppets, factions and citizens disfigured by the petrification disease, using melee weapons and a mechanical arm equipped with various tools.

The game, developed by Neowiz and Round8 Studio and published by Neowiz, was released for macOS and Windows PCs, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on Sept. 18, 2023, and landed on PlayStation 4|5 one day later. The DLC, titled Overture, was shadow-dropped during the Summer Game Fest 2025 showcase on June 6, 2025.

As of the time of writing, Lies of P has a “Very Positive” rating on Steam, with 39,637 reviews and a peak of 30,095 concurrent players, according to SteamDB.

Within the first month after release, Lies of P sales reached 1 million units. As of March 2024, the game has reached 7 million players. A sequel to Lies of P is in the works.
