Nvidia Reportedly Controls 92% of Discrete Graphics Card Market

Nvidia‘s share of the discrete graphics card market in the first quarter of 2025 reached 92%, showing an 8% increase from the last quarter of 2024.
According to the report from the analyst agency Jon Peddie, highlighted by Graphic Speak, market share percentages of AIBs (Add-In Boards), discrete graphics cards that are added to desktop PCs, changed from AMD having 15%, Intel 1%, and Nvidia dominating with 84% in Q4 2024, to AMD holding 8%, Nvidia reaching 92%, and Intel being excluded from global accounts in Q1 2025.
The report also stated that in Q1 2025, the GPU market reached 9.2 million units sold, showing a 5.3% year-over-year increase and an 8.5% increase quarter-over-quarter.
Notably, in Q1 2025, both AMD and Nvidia introduced new GPUs, along with presentations of FSR4 and DLSS4, respectively.
Meanwhile, desktop PC CPU shipments totaled about 17.8 million units, showing a 14.5% year-over-year decrease and a 20.6% quarter-over-quarter decrease.
