Kinetic Games announced that Phasmophobia is receiving a film adaptation from the producers of Paranormal Activity, Insidious and The Conjuring. The film does not have a release date yet, and Kinetic Games’ statement does not reveal how far the movie’s production is currently.
“We never could’ve imagined the incredible heights this game would reach when it launched five years ago, and we’re so thankful to our amazing community for the lasting impact Phasmophobia has had in the gaming space and beyond,” said Kinetic Games director Daniel Knight.
On May 29, the developers also announced the release of Chronicle. An update that aims to rework the Grafton Farmhouse and modify how evidences work. The update will also introduce the sound recorder, a new piece of equipment that players can use to record sound as evidence.
As is tradition with Phasmophobia patches, the developers have not revealed everything that will be added to the game and usually leave it to the players to find it out themselves. This time, a picture of a video recorder is included in the patch notes, which indicates that something might be changed with it.
Chronicle is one of Phasmophobia’s biggest patches this year. It’s set to be released on June 24, 2025. Six months after its release on consoles, the game has sold more than 3 million copies.
