  3. CD Projekt Red said that the demo serves to showcase the development tools rather than represent the final product.

The Witcher 4 tech demo ran at a steady 60 fps on a standard PlayStation 5, showcased by a trailer published on June 3, 2025, as a part of State of Unreal 2025. The trailer amassed over 1.5 million views within the first 10 hours of release, impressing viewers with its strong visuals. According to CD Projekt Red, the footage does not represent the final version of Witcher 4.

A representative from the studio spoke on the matter.

“This tech demo runs at 60fps on PS5, and that’s the performance we’re aiming for in The Witcher 4. […] It’s still too early to confirm exact specs for every platform, but we’re working closely with Epic to create an open-world experience that’s both beautiful to look at and smooth to play,” they stated, according to EuroGamer

“It’s important to keep in mind that this tech demo isn’t meant to represent The Witcher 4 – it’s a showcase of the tools we’re developing together with Epic Games. That means specific visuals like character models and environments may be different from The Witcher 4,” the representative said in regards to the potentially unrealistic expectations the trailer might have set for the final product.

More details on the developer’s insights regarding the direction of The Witcher IV is included in their developer presentation, which was published on the official The Witcher YouTube channel. In the video, they discuss the artistic direction for the franchise, which requires a blend of artistic direction that synergizes with emerging technological tools for video game development.

The Witcher 4 is a continuation of The Witcher video game universe. Slated to be an open world title launch across various platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, The Witcher 4 release date is not yet available.
