Tell Me Why and Hellslave are currently free on Steam due to various reasons. The former is an episodic adventure game focusing on story and narrative, while the latter is a dungeon crawler reminiscent of something along the lines of Darkest Dungeon.

Tell Me Why is an award-winning game that received accolades from various award ceremonies. It won “Game for Impact” at The Game Awards 2020, “Best Narrative Design” at Pégases Awards 2021 and “Outstanding Video Game” at GLAAD Media Awards 2021. It even won “Best Family Game” at Gamescom 2020. It was well-received by critics, landing a rating of “generally favorable” on Metacritic.

Hellslave is a dungeon crawler that looks quite similar to Darkest Dungeon. Players are thrown into a world of destruction to slay all the demons as humanity’s final hope. The game seems to feature some kind of variance each run, as one of the game’s descriptions says that “Hellslave is never the same twice” when describing New Game+.

Tell Me Why is free for the whole month as part of Xbox’s celebration of Pride Month. Hellslave, on the other hand, is free on Steam due to its publisher, Dear Villagers, having a sale on the platform. It’s only going to be available until June 17, 2025.
