Pokémon TCG Pocket Adds Win Streak Bonuses in Ranked Mode, Prevents Players From Demoting

Pokémon TCG Pocket announced that it’s adding win streak bonuses in Ranked Matches and preventing players from dropping down ranks. The update will be added to the game in late June.
The game’s developers said that those ranked Ultra Ball and Master Ball will receive bonus points for winning games consecutively. For reference, here’s a breakdown of the ranks in the game:
- Beginner Rank 1-4
- Poké Ball Rank 1-4
- Great Ball Rank 1-4
- Ultra Ball Rank 1-4
- Master Ball Rank
This means that only the last two ranks will have a win streak, possibly to hasten the climb from Ultra Ball rank to Master Ball rank. Once a player reaches Master Ball rank, they can also tackle the leaderboards and make it to the top.
Aside from that, the update will also prevent players in the Master Ball rank from getting demoted to the Ultra Ball rank. Those already in the Ultra Ball rank also can’t be demoted to the Great Ball rank. The developers said that they’re adding these changes to ranked matches to make them “more enjoyable.”
Pokémon TCG Pocket is a trading card game made by Creatures Inc and Dena. It was published by The Pokémon Company and came out on Oct. 30, 2024, for iOS and Android. The game has made over $500 million in revenue as of February 2025.
