Stalker Remaster Receives Hot Fixes After Mass Community Criticism

GSC Game World updated Stalker: Shadow of Chornobyl Enhanced Edition; the game currently sits at “Mixed” Steam reviews. Many of the recent reviews criticized the blurry visuals within the game – the game also crashed on various platforms. GSC’s 1.0.1 update was released on May 23, 2025.
Here are the Legends of the Zone Trilogy Enhanced Edition 1.0.1 Patch Notes:
- The games will not crash on start on unsupported PC hardware and will provide a clear message pop-up (ENG only for now) that GPU doesn’t meet the minimum system requirements.
- Fixed several popular crashes on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation platforms.
- Fixed save game issue on specific system localizations.
- Fixed problems with saving and storing configuration data.
- Fixed issues with missing geometry on several levels
According to PCGamer, the patch restored previous deleted monuments and signs outside of the power plant. This is a direct change that the community had previously asked for. More issues still persist, but the developers stated that they are committed to improving the trilogy.
Stalker: Shadow of Chornobyl Enhanced Edition released on May 20, 2025 for PC and PlayStation 5. The game’s peak player base on Steam thus far was 3,956 – this figure was achieved during the day the remaster launched.
