Key points
  1. Ubisoft announced that it is delaying some of its “biggest productions.”
  2. The studio did not announce which specific games are going to be delayed.
  3. Ubisoft’s latest major release is Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

Ubisoft recently released its financial statement for the full year of 2024-25. In it, the studio mentioned that it will delay a few games currently in its release pipeline. However, there was no mention of what those games are in the document.

“After a thorough review of its pipeline that took place from October to December, the Group decided to provide additional development time to some of its biggest productions in order to create the best conditions for success,” the statement read.

While there were no specific games mentioned, the statement did mention the company’s “biggest productions,” which would be the category where titles like Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry would fall into. This delay would mean that fiscal year 2026-27 and FY2027-28 will see significant growth in revenue compared to FY2025-26.

The report also mentioned cost reduction initiatives. According to Ubisoft, it will continue to reduce its fixed cost base through increased selectivity in investment allocation, strict control on recruitments and ongoing targeted restructurings.

Earlier this year, Ubisoft closed its Leamington studio as part of a strategic restructuring effort, leading to the loss of approximately 185 jobs. In 2022 alone, the studio eliminated over 1,700 positions.

Ubisoft’s latest major release is Assassin’s Creed Shadows, a game that also suffered a few delays. The game topped US sales for March 2025, beating heavy-hitters such as MLB The Show 25, Monster Hunter Wilds and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
