Assassin’s Creed II and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey are about to have a collaboration with Reverse: 1999 a Chinese turn-based tactical role-playing video game developed by Bluepoch. Set for August 2025, collab was announced by a teaser trailer on YouTube.

Reverse: 1999 is set in a universe where a mystical force known as Arcanum exists. In this world, humans live alongside Arcanists—a marginalized group capable of wielding Arcanum, often viewed as inferior or “sub-human.” On the final day of 1999, a mysterious event called ‘the Storm’ triggered a chaotic disruption in time, causing various eras from the 1900s to shift both backward and forward. This temporal disturbance led to the disappearance of people and objects from those times—a phenomenon known as being ‘reversed.’

Bluepoch’s title features a prologue and nine chapters, each set in a different historical year. Players assume the role of Vertin, a Timekeeper and Arcanist from the St. Pavlov Foundation. Uniquely immune to the effects of the Storm, Vertin is the only known individual who can traverse its temporal chaos unharmed. Alongside her team, she journeys through various eras to confront the Manus, a mysterious group seeking to exploit the Storm and uncover vital clues that may hold the key to stopping it altogether.

As of the time of writing, Reverse: 1999, which was released on May 31, 2023, is available for PC via Steam and both for Android and iOS.

The news about collaboration is coming on the heels of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, the eleventh major installment in the series, reaching the milestone of 40 million copies sold along with its predecessor, Assassin’s Creed Origins.
