Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics gets a free update that brings a suite of meaningful upgrades on April 16, 2025.
This fighting game compilation published by Capcom is the second entry in the Capcom’s Fighting Collection series, following Capcom Fighting Collection in 2022. Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection includes seven arcade titles in the Marvel vs. Capcom series of crossover fighting games that were originally released between 1993 and 2000.
New features:
- Versus mode for all fighters – every one of the six fighting games in the collection will now support local Versus play, a long-requested feature.
- Menu and reset tweaks – players can now reset matches straight from the pause menu and access the main menu without accidentally triggering it mid-fight.
- Graphical enhancements – Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes sees resolution upgrades and visual touch-ups.
- Version select for X-Men vs. Street Fighter – You can now choose between different gameplay versions, giving fans a chance to experiment with balancing changes from previous arcade revisions.
- Bonus content – New Shinkiro artwork and Cap-Jam remixed tracks round out the update, giving the collection a fresh coat of style.
Notably, these improvements aren’t exclusive to the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection, as Capcom is also bringing them to the original Capcom Fighting Collection.
