Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) has announced the Xbox Spotlight livestream event on April 11, 2025, confirming rumors about its port for the Xbox Series X|S being in development.
A free-to-play game developed and published by miHoYo was launched simultaneously on PlayStation 5, PC and smartphones, both iOS and Android, on July 4, 2024.
ZZZ offers players to assume the role of a Proxy (the protagonist known as Belle or Wise), a character who helps others explore alternate dimensions called Hollows. Over time, the Proxy will recruit party members known as Agents to fight entities called Ethereals and other enemies. Besides Proxy players can operate Bangboos rabbit-like robotic assistants.
In 2024, ZZZ won the Best Innovative Game Award at the China Game Innovation Competition and the Partner Award at the PlayStation Partner Awards. In 2025, the game got the title of Best Mobile Game at the UCG Game Awards and the A-Train Award for Best Mobile Game at the New York Game Awards 2024.
In its first month, ZZZ mobile version alone generated nearly $96 million, surpassing revenues of other company’s titles, including Genshin Impact, during the same period. By Dec. 18, 2024, the game’s lifetime net revenue on mobile had reached $172.7 million, with Japan contributing 35% of this amount.
It is worth noting that earlier this year, amid SAG-AFTRA’s strike over AI exploitation, two voice actors from Zenless Zone Zero by miHoYo, Emeri Chase and Nicholas Thurkettle, were replaced when they chose not to work on the game under terms that didn’t align with the union’s demands for AI protections.
