Lost Skies survival adventure title from Bossa Games, the studio behind Surgeon Simulator, is set for launch on Steam on April 18, 2025, in Early Access mode.

Bossa Games’ new IP is a cooperative survival game set in an open world with floating islands full of ancient ruins to research. Lost Skies could be played in teams of up to six players, while solo play mode is on the table as well.

The upcoming game features the possibility to build skyships to navigate through the world and battle colossal creatures in the skies. The main focus of the title is on exploration and crafting, starting with fully customizable skyships where parts can be shaped by the player’s choices as well as materials and design.

It is worth noting that after the sale of intellectual properties, including Surgeon Simulator, I Am Bread, and I Am Fish to TinyBuild in August 2022, Bossa Games executed two rounds of layoffs in January 2024 and February 2025, staying now with a reduced team of 40 developers working to complete the upcoming game.

Studio’s most popular project, Surgeon Simulator, began as a 48-hour project for the 2013 Global Game Jam and was later expanded into a full commercial release. By February 2015, it had sold over 2 million copies across various platforms and by March 2017, the mobile version alone suppressed over 3 million units worldwide.
