Marvel Rivals to Introduce Krakoa As A Map, According to Leakers

|
- A group of data miners found a batch of code about portals in Krakoa, pointing to it being a possible map for Marvel Rivals.
- The group believes that players will be able to use these portals to move around.
- The leakers did not mention a possible release date.
According to X0XLEAK, there’s a chance that Marvel Rival’s new map will be Krakoa. X0XLEAK is a data mining group that posts leaks about different games, including Fortnite, 2XKO, and Marvel Rivals.
The leaker group took to Twitter to publish their discovery about the map. They mentioned that they’ve found a batch of code that has something to do with portals in Krakoa. For context, Krakoa, in the Marvel comics, has a bunch of gateways that mutants can use to traverse the island.
X0XLEAK found that these portals open based on player distance and that they need to be “channeled” before players can use them. These portals emit a sound cue before teleporting the players, and the group thinks that this might be a “warning” for the opposing team to let them know that players are coming from the gateway.
They also mentioned that Krakoa should be a “multi-control” map. The leakers did not mention when the map is supposed to come out.
Marvel Rivals is a team-based hero shooter developed by NetEase. Its latest update included Clone Rumble, a game mode where every player in the team plays the same hero. The game was initially released in 2024.
